Shekhar is the Founder/CEO of GreenField Software Private limited, a new venture with a range of cutting edge software for energy and environment management.

Shekhar began his working career with the Confederation of Indian Industry. He then spent 25 years in the IT Industry in India & US. He was most recently the President of a Silicon Valley start-up in area of Information Lifecycle Management. Prior to that, Shekhar worked for over 12 years at Oracle India, including the last seven years as its Managing Director. During his time, Oracle India grew from a 3-man team to over 7000. He was instrumental in setting up the Centre for E-Governance at the Oracle India Corporate Office in Gurgaon.

Shekhar graduated with Economics Honours from Presidency College, Kolkata and later went on to do his PGDM from IIM Bangalore, specializing in Energy Management. Shekhar is a Charter Member of TiE Silicon Valley and was earlier a Governing Council member of the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. He is also a member of two Special Interest Groups constituted by TERI & NASSCOM on Green IT and Environment Sustainability.
