Samir became an early-stage institutional venture investor in India in 2001 following a 15 year operating career with high growth Indian companies.Industry Executive - For ten years from 1988 to 1999, Samir was part of the early team at Wipro (NYSE: WIT), one of India’s largest and most highly valued IT companies. Samir was a founding member of Wipro’s joint venture with Acer Computer in Taiwan to design, build and sell computers for the Indian market.Venture Investor - Samir became a venture capitalist in India when he joined Acer Technology Ventures in 2001- a $260 million institutional venture fund investing in technology and services companies in India, the U.S. and the Asia Pacific region. Samir led the firm's early-stage India venture practice in Banglaore, financing a number of Indian and U.S.-India companies. Samir was active on the Boards of the ATV India portfolio companies, resulting in sevearl profitable exits to date including RelQ and Indecomm Global Services. At Inventus, Samir is a Board Director at Telibrahma, Insta Health & Sokrati.India Entrepreneurial leader - Samir is well established in India's entrepreneurial and venture communities with a broad network of business contacts throughout India and the Asia Pacific region. As an active Charter Member of TiE-Bangalore, Samir spearheads the entrepreneur mentoring initiative and also advises teams forming companies in the technology incubators at the highly respected Indian Institutes of Technology. Samir was an early member of the India Semiconductor Association's Executive Council, and is an active speaker at various entrepreneurial events in India.
